Hastings resident, Dana Gale Schliep, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church. There will be no viewing or visitation due to Dana's wishes to be cremated.

Dana Gale Schliep was born May 23, 1932 in Fairfield, Nebraska to Ed & Leta (Dana) Schliep. He attended grade and high school in Fairfield. A joyful marriage of 63 years began on July 23, 1950 when he married Darlene (Dalluge) Schliep. Dana served in the U.S. Army at El Paso, Texas from 1953-1955. He farmed and owned Schliep Trucking and T-Bone Feed Yard. Dana was a member of the Clay County Livestock Association, American Legion of Fairfield, and the Elks Club. He served as an elder at Community Presbyterian Church in Fairfield. Dana retired in 1998, moving to Hastings in 2001, where he was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Dana was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Joshua Bachman.
