Dana Spencer

Hastings resident, Dana J. Spencer, 61, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be Friday, May 30, 2014; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Book signing will be Thursday, May 29, 2014; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family or Southern Hills Golf Scholarship.

Dana was born February 18, 1953 in Gary, Indiana to Dale D. & Darlene (Hall) Spencer. He moved to Hastings in 1968 from Valentine, Nebraska and married Judy K. Bauld on April 16, 1971. Dana started working for Hueske Harvestor and then started his trucking career for Consolidated Freightways, Hastings Irrigation, Bernard Pavelka Trucking, and spent the last 26 years working for A-1 Fiberglass as a truck driver/shipping manager. He attended Grace United Methodist Church and was a member of Southern Hills Golf Course. Dana enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting.

Dana was preceded in death by his father, Dale D. Spencer; step-father, Elmer "Bud" Brumbaugh; and brother-in-law, Frank Meyers.
