Danny Mattley

Hastings resident, Danny Gene Mattley, 69, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home.

Memorial services will be Sunday, August 26, 2012; 3:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Art Schakat officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Start Over Rover Animal Rescue at P.O. Box 594, Hastings, Nebraska 68902-0594. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Danny was born November 28, 1942 in Hastings, Nebraska to Eugene E. & Eldora R. (Campain) Mattley. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1962. He served with the U.S. Army from January 7, 1963 to December 28, 1965. Danny worked for NASA on the "man on the moon" project from 1968-1969. He helped his parents manager the Tower Lounge and Tower Motel in Holdrege, Nebraska. Danny then attended and graduated from Kearney State College. He went back in to the Army November 21, 1972 until December 18, 1978. Danny served in Germany and Greenland and was a First Lieutenant. He helped his parents operate the X-L Motel; was in telecommunications; and was a self employed residential real estate appraiser. Danny was a member of the National Real Estate Appraisers and the National Realtors Association. He married Monica Aspegren in 1972 and they later divorced. In the 1980's Danny married Marian South and they later divorced. On June 6, 2000 Danny married Guntamanee "Ead" Sittiprasart.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ricky Mattley; and son, Nicholas Joel Mattley.
