Darcilla Morse

Former Hastings resident, Darcilla "Dee" Vaundeen Morse, 81, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at Golden LivingCenter Lakeview in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 24, 2013; 1:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home, 601 N. Webb Road, in Grand Island, Nebraska with Pastor Darrell Holzinger officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Book signing will be 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Thursday and 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Friday at Butler Volland Funeral Home in Hastings, Nebraska.

Dee was born April 20, 1932 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Ralph & Fern (Wheeler) Cabler. She received her education in Grand Island, Nebraska and graduated in 1950 from Grand Island Senior High. Dee married Charles Wesley Morse on June 10, 1951; he preceded her in death on September 18, 2012. She was employed at Wheelers Farm Store for 18 years; retiring and moving to Ashton, Nebraska in 1994. Dee worked alongside her husband in Scouts, baseball, and Lincoln School PTA.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Fern Cabler; husband, Charles Wesley Morse; brother, Ardean Bryce; and sister, Lealatrice Gustin.
