Darlene Baumgart

Hastings resident, Darlene Marie Baumgart, 74, of 747 Madden Road, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Services will be Monday, November 26, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl Rehwaldt & Rev. Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, November 24, 2007; 1P.M. - 9P.M, Sunday, November 25, 2007; 1P.M. - 9P.M at the funeral home & Monday, November 26, 2007, one hr. prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Cancer Fund, Faith Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.

Mrs. Baumgart was born June 27, 1933 in Platte Center, Nebraska to Paul & Christina (Martensen) Beilke. She was baptized on July 16, 1933 and confirmed May 25, 1947 in a rural Lutheran Church near Platte Center. She attended country elementary school and graduated from Platte Center High School in 1951. She worked as a nurse's aid for 4 years at Columbus Lutheran Hospital and one year at Becton Dickinson in Columbus, Nebraska. On April 10, 1955, she married Dean Baumgart at Grace Lutheran Church in Platte Center. She was a homemaker, Cub Scout Den Mother and a resident of Hastings since 1955. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and very active in her church. She served many years on the Funeral/Wedding food committee, Ruth Circle, Bible Study and delivered Faith's food pantry donation to Hastings Food Pantry distribution site. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and volunteered for many community activities. Darlene will be missed by all who loved her.

Mrs. Baumgart was preceded in death by one son, Daryl, her parents and two brothers, Eldon & Clifford Beilke.
