Hastings resident, Darlene A. (Davis) Hoins, 88, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Monday, December 17, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings with Rev. Marcus J. Mackay officiating. Burial will be Monday, December 17, 2012; 3:00 P.M. in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Darlene was born May 2, 1924 in Hildreth, Nebraska to Herman A. & Anna H. (Jurgens) Hollingshead. She graduated from Hildreth High School. Darlene married Beryl C. Davis on May 7, 1943 in Minden; he preceded her in death in 1988. She married Robert L. Hoins on September 23, 1995 in Hastings; he preceded her in death. Darlene worked at Montgomery Wards, Mary Lanning where she later retired, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Birthday Club. She enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Beryl C. Davis; second husband, Robert L. Hoins; one brother, Laverne Hollingshead; and daughter-in-law, Pat Davis.
