Hastings resident, David G. Story, 70, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Saturday, February 20, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Barry Rempp officiating. Military rites will be held at Parkview Cemetery after services at Chapel. Book signing will be Friday, February 19, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.

David was born June 3, 1939 in Smith Center, Kansas to Henry & Flora (Robinett) Story. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1957 and graduated from Hastings College in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army from December 4, 1958 until September 6, 1960. He married Linda S. Yates on July 14, 1961, and they later divorced. After going to college he worked as a feedlot manager for several years at Harrington Feedlots. He then worked as a salesman for American Cyanmid Pharmaceuticals and T & L Irrigation. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ, V.F.W. #1346; was a Boy Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and was on the Board of Trustees for the First Congregational Church of Christ.

David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Quentin; sisters, Marjorie Story and Paula Firebaugh.
