Dayna Hagemeier

Dayna Hagemeier of Juniata, 69, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 19, 2013.

Memorial Services will be Monday, September 23, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Hastings with Rev. Steven Peeler officiating. Private family burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. There will be a book signing Saturday, September 21, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Dayna Dianne Hawes was born December 8, 1943 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Henry & Corinne (Chaloupka) Hawes. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1962 and attended the University of Nebraska. Dayna married Larry Hagemeier on May 25, 1963 in Dewitt, Nebraska; they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May 2013. She and Larry own and operate L-H Manufacturing Company. Most important in her life was her children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and spending time together. Dayna had a generous heart and loved giving rather than receiving. She found joy in spending time with her many friends. She and Larry enjoyed many hours together with their horses and their love of horse racing. Dayna was selfless, always putting others before herself. She was nurturing, gracious and kind hearted. Dayna loved to laugh and loved all things beautiful. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Dayna was preceded in death by her father, Henry Hawes; daughter, Lisa Hagemeier-Hinrichs; in-laws, Harvey & Evelyn Hagemeier; brothers-in-law, Donald Hagemeier and Ken Hartig; and nephew, Jared Hagemeier.
