Dean Mosier

Hastings resident, Dean Ray Mosier, 63, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Rochester, Minnesota.

Graveside Services for family and friends will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.; Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or Faith Lutheran Church.

Dean was born on October 24, 1950 in Fairfield, Nebraska to Opal (Reyer) and LaVern Mosier. He graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1968 and went on to attend Hastings College and University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Following college, Dean worked at Kohtz Sales in Hastings and then at Mosier Construction as co-owner with his father for many years. He had been employed the last twenty-six years at Adams County Roads Department. Dean married Alyce Stocks on September 1, 1973 and to this union, a son, Thomas, was born in 1983. Together they enjoyed golf, gourmet club and camping. Dean liked to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He enjoyed time with family and friends. He was the past Grand Chancellor of Knights of Pythias.

Dean Ray Mosier was preceded in death by parents; brother, David Mosier; infant sister, Janice Mosier; nieces, Cindy Garber, Whitney Parr, Ashley Parr; great nephew, Caleb Parr; and mother-in-law, Theodocia (Gifford) Stocks.
