Delbert Coats

Hastings resident, Delbert E. Coats, 87, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska with his family by his side.

Graveside Services will be Saturday, October 28, 2017; 11:00 A.M. at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to American Heart Association. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Delbert was born June 12, 1930 in Harvard, Nebraska to Elroy A. & Meta (Holm) Coats. He married Billie Lawrence on September 13, 1947; she preceded him in death on January 22, 2013.

Delbert worked as a farm hand, machine operator for International Paper Company, and a truck driver after he retired. He loved to fish, camp, and hike. Delbert loved to watch sports and enjoyed coaching his children.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Coats; sons, Kenneth Coats and Ronald Coats; and brother, Roy Coats.
