Delbert Schwenk

Hastings resident, Delbert R. Schwenk, 80, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, March 22, 2014; 1:30 P.M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings with Pastor John Whitsett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2014; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to MidAmerica Nazarene University, ATTN: University Advancement, 2030 East College Way, Olathe, Kansas 66062 in memory of Delbert R. Schwenk.

Delbert was born November 7, 1933 in Hamlet, Nebraska to Victor & Ruth (Christner) Schwenk. He graduated from Hastings High School and attended business college. Delbert married Marjorie "Marj" E. Stonecypher on September 11, 1955; she preceded him in death on February 13, 2013. He was owner of Schwenk Custom Kitchens for over 50 years. Delbert was a member of Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marjorie "Marj" E. Schwenk.
