Della Stein

April 4, 1919 — May 12, 2004

Della D. Stein, 85, of 5505 So. Wabash, Hastings, Nebraska, died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Wednesday, May 12, 2004; 3:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rev. William G. Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mrs. Stein was born April 4, 1919 Hastings, Nebraska to John & Ella (Anderson) Harrenstein She grew up on her parents farm south of Hastings and after graduating from Hastings College, Hastings, Nebraska, in 1941, she taught school for a brief number of years in Sutton, Nebraska. She married Willard C. Stein on June 18, 1944 in Palacios, Texas and when she returned to Hastings, she worked as a secretary at the Navy Ammunition Depot during WWII. She was a para-professional at Hastings High School during the late 60's and early 70's. Willard preceded her in death on February 9, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a past 4-H Leader and Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Stein was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard C. , two brothers and one sister.

Sisters: Leah McCrady - Hastings, NE
Leola Lay -Glenvil, NE

Memorial may be given to First Presbyterian Church of Adams County Red Cross

VISITATION:
Tue. 5-11-04; 5 pm-9 pm with family present from 7 pm-9 pm
Wed. 5-12-04; 1 hr. prior to service at the church
