Delores Person

Grand Island resident, Delores R. (Placke) Person, 91, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Grand Island Veterans Home, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, September 18, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Dan Bremer officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Grand Island, Nebraska or Grand Island Veterans Home. Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 2015; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to service at the funeral home on Friday.

Delores was born April 16, 1924 in Hastings, Nebraska to Henry & Helena (Theesen) Stamer. She married Arnold F. Placke on August 6, 1940; he preceded her in death on November 3, 1951. Delores married George V. Person on April 16, 1954; he preceded her in death on December 18, 2012. She worked as a waitress and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary all of Grand Island.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Arnold F. Placke and George V. Person; brothers, Henry Stamer, Julius "Sam" Stamer, and Leo Stamer; sisters, Josephine Park, Velma Smith and Elsie Pavelka; sons, Larry Placke and Arnold Placke, Jr. and grandson Mark Placke.
