Former Hastings resident, Dianne M. (Billesbach) Kirk, 59, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska after a year and a half long battle with cancer.
Rosary will be Thursday, March 19, 2009; 8:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 20, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Thursday, March 19, 2009; 9:00 A.M.-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Friday March 20, 2009; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 9850 Nicholas Street, Suite 200, Omaha, Nebraska, 68114 or Hastings Catholic Schools Trust.
Dianne was born April 8, 1949 in Hastings, Nebraska, to John & Antoinette (Portz) Billesbach. She graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in 1967, then earned her LPN license from the Kearney School of Practical Nursing, Kearney, Nebraska and in 1982 received her Nursing Degree from the College of St. Mary, Omaha, Nebraska. She had been a registered nurse at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Good Samaritan Village and most recently at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha. She was a former member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings and was attending Mary Our Queen Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Dianne was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. She lived her life taking care of others, making crafts, gardening, sewing, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her beloved dog, Chloe.
Dianne was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Daniel Billesbach.
