Dick J. Timmerman, 84, of 206 East 4th, Fairfield, Nebraska, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at his home.
Services will be Friday, July 9, 2004; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska.
Mr. Timmerman was born July 14, 1919 in O'Neill, Nebraska to John Jacob & Sarah Mae (Clark) Timmerman. He married Margaret L. Hansen on June 27, 1941 in O'Neill, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1941-1945. He worked for Levi Fuller Sand & Gravel in O'Neill, Nebraska, John Deere, Syracuse, Kansas, Naval Ammunition Depot, Hastings, Nebraska and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, McAlester, Oklahoma. During his employment , he received two awards for sustained superior performance and awards for his length of service. He retired in 1982 and moved to the Lawrence, Nebraska area and later to Fairfield, Nebraska. He was a member of the D.A.V and the V.F.W.
Mr. Timmerman was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers, three infant children, Shirley, Richard and Timothy.
