Dolores Burchess

June 20, 1918 — December 21, 1977

Dolores 'Dee' Burchess, 84, the Regency, died Thursday, February 27, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be Sunday, March 2, 2003; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday March 3, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Dolores 'Dee' Burchess was born June 20, 1918 in Elba, Nebraska to Frank & Elizabeth (Zalewski) Nodlinski. Her family moved to Hastings, Nebraska when she was a small child. She attended St. Cecilia's Catholic School and graduated from Hastings Senior High. She attended Hastings College and later the Strayer's Business College in Washington D.C. She worked for the Federal Government from June of 1942 to September of 1974, retiring as secretary to the Deputy Director of Defense Research & Engineering at the Pentagon. She witnessed the launching of the first atomic submarine, the USS Nautilus at Groton, Connecticut in 1954. She returned to Hastings, Nebraska after her retirement. On December 21, 1977, she married Jack C. Burchess in Honolulu, Hawaii and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a past member of Lochland Country Club.

Dolores 'Dee' Burchess was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Burchess and a sister and a brother.
