Dolores Konen

Hastings resident, Dolores J. Konen, 82, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be Friday, September 18, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Roseland, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2009; 12:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home, and Saturday, September 19, 2009; one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Hastings Public Library or St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Konen was born on March 16, 1927 at Ayr, Nebraska, to Clifford and Mildred (Roberts) Graham. She graduated from Doniphan High School and attended Hastings College in the Mary Lanning Cadet Nursing Program. She worked at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in the record room prior to her marriage. She was united in marriage to Anthony G. Konen on June 28, 1949 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska, he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church Altar Society.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Sue Hatton; two infant grandchildren, Heather Hatton and Jared Buss; her sisters, Janet Brommer and Naomi Hesselgesser; brother, William Graham; 2 sons-in-law, Jon Martin and Tom Hatton.
