Don Meddles

April 26, 1920 — September 16, 2009

Hastings resident, Don M. Meddles, 89, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Monday, September 21, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings with Pastor David L. Speicher and Pastor Jonathan Weathers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2009; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, September 20, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., with family present from 3:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home, and Monday, September 21, 2009; 1 hour prior to service at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene. Memorials may be given to Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene.

Don was born April 26, 1920 in Hastings, Nebraska to Fred M. & Margaret A. (Mouser) Meddles. He graduated from Hastings High School and married Leona M. Fetters on June 8, 1941 in Hastings, Nebraska. He attended and was a member of the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene since the early 1940's. He served actively in many capacities within the church. Don was the Church Choir Director for many years and had a tremendous love for music. He worked as a taxi driver, Swift & Company, Nelson Electric. He opened Meddles Electric in 1962 and retired in 1995. He loved being around people and "kidding" with them whenever he could.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
