Don Uland

Don L. Uland, 92, of 1522 N. Hastings, died Monday, October 20, 2003 at BryanLGH Medical Center West, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, October 24, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Ralph Ford officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, Nebraska.

Don L. Uland was born February 21, 1911 in Lancaster County near Malcolm, Nebraska to Riley F. & Julia (Owen) Uland. He graduated from University High School (Temple High School), Lincoln, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during WWII from November 15,1943 to February 17, 1946 in the 173rd Engineer Combat Battalion in the South Pacific. On March 8, 1947, he married June M. Koehler and she preceded him in death on June 16, 1985. They moved from Ralston, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1958. He retired from NPPD after working for 37 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and American Legion. He was active with Boy Scouts, coached Little League baseball and was an avid baseball fan.

Don L. Uland was preceded in death by his parents, wife, June, daughter, Cheryl McLaughlin, 3 brothers, Ross, Russell and Wayne and 3 sisters, Shirley Beckman, Ethel Borgman and Avis Uland.
