Donald 'Don' W. Adams, 66, of 1809 W. 4th Street, Hastings, Nebraska, died Monday, June 3, 2002 at his home.
Services will be Wednesday, June 5, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Father Val Bartek officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska at a later date.
Donald 'Don' W. Adams was born October 12, 1935 in Bazine, Kansas to Fred & Esther (Steiben) Adams. He moved with his family to Great Bend, Kansas in 1940 and attended Great Bend public schools from 1940-1949. He then moved to Hastings, Nebraska and attended Hastings High School from 1949-1951. He married Loretta Campbell on November 29, 1952 and they later divorced. He served in the United States Army from February 1954 until March 1957. He was in Korea from September 1954 until January 1, 1956. He married Barbara Parsons on January 25, 1956 and moved to Leavenworth, Kansas and returned to Hastings, Nebraska in March 1957. He worked at Duttons Warehouse and Navy Ammunition Depot. In 1962, he moved to McPherson, Kansas and returned to Hastings, Nebraska in 1964. He worked for Trumbull Coop from 1964-1972. He moved to rural Giltner, Nebraska in 1972 and returned to Hastings in 1988. On December 22, 1988, he married Loretta (Campbell) Burnham. He was a truck driver for Johnson's Concrete form 1988 until his retirement in 2000. He was a life member of the V.F.W.
