Donald Chaon

Donald Leon Chaon, 58, of Oak, Nebraska, died Monday, December 29, 2003 at his home.

Services will be Friday, January 2, 2004; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Paul Knott officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Chaon was born October 6, 1945 in San Francisco, California to Donald J. A. & Alice E. (Herboldsheimer) Chaon. He graduated from Potter High School and served in the United States Navy from June 11, 1963 to September 27, 1967. On September 9, 1967, he married Carolyn Joy Kesselring in Sidney, Nebraska. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, living in eastern and western Nebraska and Colorado. He attended the Berean Bible Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He enjoyed wildlife, bird watching, photography, fishing, gardening and collecting western memorabilia and stamps.

Mr. Chaon was preceded in death by his father, Donald J.A. Chaon.
