Hastings resident, Donald W. Davis, 72, of 227 East Park Street, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at his home.
Services will be Friday, February 22, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at First Christian with Rev. Dr. Judith Allen officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association for Research or Mary Lanning Hospice. Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2008; 1:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. & Friday, February 22, 2008; 9:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home and an hour prior to service at the church.
Mr. Davis was born August 24, 1935 in Almena, Kansas to Walter & Irma (Conarty) Davis. He graduated from Almena High School and served in the United States Army Reserves in Norton, Kansas from 1952-1956. On August 17, 1956, he married Sharon M. Patterson in Hastings, Nebraska. He was meat cutter for O.P. Skaggs, Jack & Jill, & Safeway grocery stores. He owned and operated his own locker in Logan, Kansas and Meat Market in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They moved from Phillipsburg, Kansas to Hastings in 1988. He was also an electrician and a maintenance man.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Bowes.
