Donald Glass

Donald A. Glass, 87, of 1512 Highland Dr., died Friday, July 11, 2003 at his home.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, July 22, 2003; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Stephen J. Brownlee officiating. Private family interment at a later date. No visitation.

Donald A. Glass was born April 18, 1916 in Grand Island, Nebraska to John B. & Carrie (Anderson) Glass. He graduated from Grand Island Sr. High School in 1935 and attended Hastings College and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska where he received a letter in Gymnastics. He was a pilot and raced hydroplane speed boats in the 1930's. During WWII, from July 14, 1941 until November 28, 1945, he served in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant and attended glider pilot school. On August 28, 1949, he married Phyllis D. Clark in Hastings, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on July 23, 1996. He was a Vice-President at Western Landroller before retiring in 1979. He was a member of Scottish Rite, Hastings Lodge #50 A.F. & A.M., Royal Order of Jesters, Tehama Shrine and Ducks Unlimited.

Donald A. Glass was preceded in death by his parents and wife Phyllis.
