Donald Godding

Hastings resident, Donald "Don" U. Godding, 69, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings with Pastor John Whitsett and Rev. Gerald Schwab officiating. Private family burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. Book signing will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Thursday, July 11, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Don was born January 5, 1944 in Nelson, Nebraska to Roy & Frances Evelyn (Underwood) Godding. He married Ruth Godding on May 13, 1992 in Loveland, Colorado; she preceded him in death on January 2, 2012. Don worked as a foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #592.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Godding; and brother, Eldon Godding.
