Donald Kloppenberg

Hastings resident, Donald T. Kloppenberg, 87, of Perkins Pavilion, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services and burial will be Thursday, February 17, 2005; 1:30 P.M. at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Ramon Decaen officiating.

Mr. Kloppenberg was born June 26, 1917 in Greenleaf, Kansas to August & Lydia (Talbot) Kloppenberg. He graduated from Greenleaf High School, Greenleaf, Kansas and attended Citizens' Military Training Camp at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas for 4 years. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a fireman and retired from the Hastings Police Department in 1979 after 22 years. He was a member of the Police Officer Association, the Saddle Club in Grand Island, Nebraska and the Eagles in both Hastings, Nebraska & Grand Island, Nebraska.

Mr. Kloppenberg was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and two brothers.

Memorial may be given to Hastings Police Department
