Donald Schrock

Former Hastings resident, Donald E. Schrock, 89, of Northridge Retirement Community, Kearney, Nebraska, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, August 23, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 2008; 5PM-9P.M., Friday, August 22, 2008; 9AM-9PM with family present from 5PM-7PM and Saturday, August 23, 2008; 9AM until service time. A memorial will be established.

Mr. Schrock was born February 14, 1919 in Davenport, Nebraska to John & Pearl (Walters) Schrock. On November 16, 1938, he married Lucille Mussmann in Seneca, Kansas. He was a farmer & cattle feeder in Clay County. They moved from Ong, Nebraska to Hastings in 1984. He attended All Saints Chapel and was a past charter member of the Lions Club & past President & Board Member of Farmers Coop in Ong, Nebraska and a past member of Eagles in Hastings. He was Grand Marshall of Autumnfest at Good Samaritan Village in 1991. Don & Lucille moved to Kearney in March of this year.

Mr. Schrock was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sharol Griess and a grandson, Kevin Griess.
