Donald Snoberger

Hastings resident, Donald C. Snoberger, 77, of The Kensington, 233 N. Hastings, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at The Kensington of natural causes.

Services will be Friday, November 18, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska.

Mr. Snoberger was born November 2, 1928 at the family home located on 12th St. , 6 miles outside of Hastings, Nebraska to Claude & Bertha (Van Trump) Snoberger. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1946 and attended University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He was married to Margretha Edmondson from 1950 to 1952. He later married Shirley Brown on August 6, 1956 and she preceded him in death in a car accident in March of 1958. He married Patricia Lou Price on April 16, 1960 and she preceded him in death on December 30, 1994 of cancer. Mr. Snoberger was a farmer and spent a lifetime in community involvement; beginning with 4-H and Cub Scout leader and baseball coach. He was a member of the Clay County Fair Board for 3 years in the late 50's to early 60's. In 1970, he was President of Adams County Farm Bureau for 4 years. He served 6 years on the Nebraska State Farm Bureau Board. In 1979, he was elected President of Adams County Fair Board, serving 5 years, also served as Vice-President and Treasurer for 2 years each. In 1991, he was elected to the Nebraska State Fair Board which he served for several years. He served on the Adams County School Reorganization Committee; was Chairman of West Blue Township Board, President of South Central Pork Producers, served also on the Nebraska State Farm Bureau Board, Past President of Adams County Farm Bureau, and served on the State Extension Advisory Boards for 4 years. He was also a Trumbull United Methodist Sunday School Superintendent. He spent many years in the Adams County Ag Society along with a host of other community volunteer positions. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Snoberger was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, a son, David Allen in a car accident in 1966 and also a granddaughter, Leah at age 7 of complications of cerebral palsy.

Thur. 11-17-05; 9am-9pm with family present 6pm-8pm
