Donald Terwey

Hastings resident, Donald "Don" E. Terwey, 83, died peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at home with his family around him.

Services will be Friday, July 5, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Mel Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Donald E. Terwey Memorial Fund. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2013; 2:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Thursday, July 4, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Friday 9:00 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Donald was born January 30, 1930 in Columbus, Nebraska to Cecil & Flora (McDowell) Terwey. He moved to Hastings with his parents and attended school here. On July 22, 1950 he married Fay Cline in Clay Center. They would have been married 63 years. He was a plumber by trade. He worked three years in Grand Island for Herman Plumbing and 17 years for Robert Martin Plumbing. He joined Omaha Plumbers Union Local 16 in 1962. He worked in many states on nuclear and coal fired plants. He retired in 1994.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Berdena Kluver and Rita DeBoer; brothers-in-law, George DeBoer , Fred Kluver, Cliff Cline, Ken Cline; and son-in-law, Dave Nauenburg,
