Donald Uden

Juniata resident, Donald Walter Uden, 75, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, August 27, 2009; 2:00 P.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Volzke and Rev. Dave Uden officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Concordia Cemetery, Christ Lutheran Churchyard, rural Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2009; 6 P.M. - 9 P.M., Wednesday August 26, 2009; 9 A.M. - 9 P.M. (With the family present from 7 P.M.-9 P.M.) at the funeral home. Thursday, August 27, 2009; 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church, Juniata, Nebraska, the Lutheran Hour, or Nebraska Children's Home.

Donald was born August 6, 1934 in rural Juniata, Nebraska to Walter & Ida (Dieken) Uden. He attended Christ Lutheran School and graduated from Kenesaw High School in 1952. He married Geraldine Lange on August 14, 1955. From 1957 to 1958 he served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He was one of the founders of BCA in Prosser, Nebraska. He enjoyed working with old tractors, enjoyed friends throughout the countryside, and farming.
