Donald Walter Uhrmacher Sr., 72, of 1236 North Baltimore Ave., Hastings, Nebraska died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Thursday, July 8, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 501 North Burlington Ave., Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Larry Spomer officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Uhrmacher was born March 12, 1932 in rural Juniata, Adams County, Nebraska to William H. & Amanda A. (Kothe) Uhrmacher. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1950. He married Florence "Flossie" Thiel on August 3, 1952. He served in the Army's 25th Infantry Division (Lighting Division - HQ Special Troops) from 1952-1954. He lived in Fort Morgan, Colorado and Castro Valley, California before moving back to Hastings, Nebraska in 1960. He worked as a group leader at Hastings Industries Heating & AC. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, VFW, Southern Hills and AFL-CIO Machinist Union.
Mr. Uhrmacher was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Sarah Uhrmacher, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
