Donald Wengler

Hastings resident, Donald K. Wengler, 63, of 2223 West 9th, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Monday, November 5, 2007; 3:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, November 3, 2007; 9AM-9PM, Sunday, November 4, 2007; 1PM-9PM & Monday, November 5, 2007; 9AM until service time. Memorials may be given to the family.

Mr. Wengler was born August 6, 1944 in Roseland, Nebraska to Jacob & Margaret (Wermeskerch) Wengler. He moved with his family to Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 9. He graduated from Hastings High School and married Jean Wages on July 24, 1965 at First United Methodist Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He worked for Western Land Roller for 13 years, Metz Bakery for 6 years and retired from Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in 2006 after working there for 27 years. He was a member of Four Rivers Sportsman Club, raced stock cars for several years, coached softball for 10 years and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Wengler was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale.
