Donald Wolf

Hastings resident, Donald L. Wolf, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home.

Services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Greg Lindenberger officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or UIM International Flight Fund, PO Box 6429, Glendale, AZ 85312-6429. Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2017; 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Don was born in North Manchester, Indiana on September 8, 1926 to Harry S. and Margaret (Beery) Wolf. Don married Wanga Hockaday in 1947. They are members of First United Methodist Church.

Don moved to Hastings with his parents and two sisters in October, 1941 from Marshalltown, Iowa. He graduated from Hastings High School. He started Hastings College in the summer but was drafted to the Navy on February 14, 1945. After his service he returned to Hastings College and graduated in 1949 with a B.A. degree cum laude in Business Administration.

Don worked for the Hastings Daily Tribune for 46 ½ years. He retired from the Tribune in 1989 as business manager and Seaton Publishing Company corporate secretary and treasurer.

Don was active in the Hastings Noon Lions Club since 1957 where he held various offices. He was a member of Mid-West Lodge #317, Scottish Rite, and Tehama Temple Shrine. He also served with numerous community groups in Hastings.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Carol Cox and Barbara Naggatz.
