Donna Beitler

Trumbull resident, Donna Jean (Katz) Beitler, 87, died peacefully with her husband of 42 years, Evan, at her side on Monday morning, February 23, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, March 2, 2015; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Travis King officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donna's life. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell. Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015; 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. with family present and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Donna Jean was born July 2, 1927, in Marshall, Michigan and graduated from Marshall High School in 1944. She followed her husband through a number of military postings which included; three in Michigan, three in California, one in South Carolina and one in Japan, Donna retired to Trumbull, Nebraska in 1985 with Evan. Donna was a lifetime "Blue Ribbon" quilter, knitter, and artist at crochet recently completing a 30 year project, fabricating a heritage bedspread. Donna was also known for her work as a seamstress and her woodworking skills building several doll houses and restoring caned furniture for family and friends. She was passionate about her flower and rose gardens, her canning was also coveted by all, especially her Mother's Heirloom Pickles. Donna was an outspoken advocate of her family and friends especially those she felt needed a hand up. A member of the Trumbull United Methodist Church she was a generous individual who loved her family. The family would like to thank the Caregivers at Mary Lanning Hospital for their efforts, care, and dedication.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Lee, of California; oldest son, Russell James Lee, of California; parents, Donald C. and Myrtle (Hoyt) Katz; and siblings: Rex, Duane, Wade, Blaine Katz and Joyce (Katz) Anderson all of Michigan.
