Donna was born June 30, 1930, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Harris and Mary "Josie" (McCauley) Yates. She began attending Epworth Methodist Church in the fifth grade, where she met Rodney Page several years later. She married Rodney on June 20, 1948, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Donna and Rodney had three daughters, Sandra, Patricia, and Janette, and one son, James. Rod and Donna started their married life on a farm in Lexington, Nebraska. The family moved several times for Rodney's work but settled in Hastings, Nebraska, in 1975.

Donna's involvement with the Methodist Church remained important throughout her life. She taught Sunday school and Bible school. She held a variety of leadership positions with the United Methodist Women and enjoyed coordinating and cooking funeral lunches. In addition, she volunteered as a tutor in a local elementary school and as a "pink lady" in hospitals in Minneapolis and Hastings. She was involved with the Girl Schools and Cub Scouts as well. Donna was a member of the Shrine Hospital Auxiliary and over the years has made thousands of nylon net scrubbies that were sold at craft fair fundraisers. Her family still treasures these scrubbies. She was famous for her cooking and won numerous ribbons at the county fair for canning, baked goods, and produce. Donna enjoyed golfing, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother dedicated to her family.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodney; and son-in-law, Craig LaPenn.
