Donnie G. Persinger

Kearney resident Donnie G. Persinger, 64, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at CHI Health Good Samaritan, Kearney, NE. 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, at First United Methodist Church in Hastings with Rev. Lance Clay officiating. Burial with military rites by Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 9, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Donnie was born September 7, 1960, in Hastings, NE to Eugene and Jean (Munroe) Persinger. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1978 and the University of Nebraska-Kearney in 1986. Donnie served in the U.S. Air Force from 1978-1982. 

Donnie was an airline pilot for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hastings and the NRA. Donnie was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved aviation, spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed college sports such as football. 

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
