Doris Brouillette

Hastings resident, Doris R. L'Heureux Brouillette, 93, passed to eternal life July 19, 2014 in Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary is Tuesday, July 22, 2014, 7:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Brouillette and Fr. Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools Trust or to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Brouillette was born September 17, 1920 on the family farm at Campbell Nebraska, and was the 4th child of Hector and Elizabeth (Boudreau) L'Heureux. She was raised on a farm southwest of Campbell, Nebraska, and attended country school through the 8th grade. She graduated from St. Ursula's Catholic School at York, Nebraska in 1938. She married Leo Brouillette on August 10, 1939 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Campbell and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2007. They lived in Hastings until 1943, then moved to a farm south of Roseland, Nebraska. During these years she worked at Metz Bakery and Roseland Bank. In 1963 they gave up farming and moved back to Hastings and she worked at the 1st National and City National banks. Doris retired in 1982. They loved to travel, dance and spend time with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; great-grandson, Joseph; parents; three brothers; and one sister.
