Doris Fry

Hastings resident, Doris K. Fry, 56, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings.

Services will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013; 2:30 P.M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings with Pastor John Whitsett officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Doris K. Fry Memorial Fund. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Butler Volland Chapel. Viewing will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Doris was born January 4, 1957 in Hastings, Nebraska to Elvin E. & Norma R. (Dykeman) Franklin. She was raised in Ayr, Nebraska and graduated from Adams Central High School in 1975. She attended CCC and was married to Curtis D. Fry on July 17, 1982. They lived in Omaha from 1989 to 1995 and moved back to Hastings. Doris worked for the Hastings Public Schools as a secretary and currently worked at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. She loved her family, job, staff and students that she had contact with at Lincoln School.

Doris K. Fry was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Hub Franklin; and brother-in-law, Marcel McCoy.
