Doris Kluver

Former Fairfield resident, Doris A. Kluver, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at College View Assisted Living, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, April 30, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Fairfield Community Presbyterian Church, Fairfield with Pastor Lloyd Boyce officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Fairfield Community Presbyterian Church or American Cancer Society.

Doris A. Connor was born in Gibbon, Nebraska on February 11, 1923 to George & Blanche (Scott) Connor. She graduated from Gibbon High School in 1940. After graduation she worked for Swift & Company in Hastings where she met Art Kluver. They married on August 2, 1944 in Mankato, Kansas. They moved to a farm south of Fairfield, Nebraska and began their farming career. She was a member of the Fairfield Community Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and served as a deacon. She worked at the U.S.M.A.R.C. for several years on the meat tasting panel. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose focus always centered around her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, dominoes and card games with her many friends. Most recently she was a resident of College View Assisted Living in Hastings where her humor, kindness and love for others gained her many new friendships. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur, brother; sister; and one grandchild.
