Former Hastings resident, Doris M. Sahling, of 225 N. 56th St., #515, Gateway Manor, Lincoln, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 21, 2002 at BryanLGH Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, March 26, 2002; 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Carl W. Utley officiating. Private family interment at a later date. Memorial service at Gateway Manor will be Wednesday, March 27, 2002; 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Andrew McDonald officiating.
Doris M. Sahling was born July 7, 1922 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Calvin H. & Lulu (Hoppe) Hartwig. She graduated from Kenesaw High School and taught elementary school in a one room schoolhouse. On August 15, 1942, she married Clinton J. Sahling in Mankato, Kansas. She then worked in POW camp near Atlanta, Nebraska during WWII and was featured in Nebraska Public Television documentary about the camp. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1946. She was the business manager and bookkeeper for Foote Medical Clinic for 20 years. She was a member & Trustee at First Presbyterian Church, a member of Church Circle #4, life member and past president of P.T.A., 4-H leader, O.E.S. Acacia Chapter #39, American Legion Auxiliary. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2002.
Doris M. Sahling was preceded in death by her parents.
