Hastings resident, Dorothy M. Harrenstein, 77, of Perkins Pavilion, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Wednesday, March 21, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Remmers & Pastor Adam White officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorial may be given to family's choice. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2007; 9A.M. to 9P.M. at the funeral home with family present from 7P.M. to 9 P.M.
Mrs. Harrenstein was born October 1, 1929 in Hastings, Nebraska to Harvey H. & Martha (Stiegemeier) Hobrock. She was baptized on November 3, 1929 at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska . She graduated from Hastings High School and married Gail M. Harrenstein on March 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1999. She worked at the Adams County Court House when she was first married and lived on a farm south of town. Shortly after that, they relocated to the Doniphan area, living there until moving to Perkins two years ago. She was a lifelong member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school. She was a past 4-H Leader, School Board Member, and member of the Card Club, all in Doniphan and Adams County Neighborly Gals Extension Club. She was a 39 year cancer survivor.
Mrs. Harrenstein was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
