Hastings resident, Dorothy F. (Schultz) Johnson, 87, 603 Madden Rd, died Friday, December 31, 2004 at Brookstone Village, Omaha, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, January 7, 2005; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. William Deahl, Jr. officiating. Eastern Star services will be held. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska.
Mrs. Johnson was born February 4, 1917 to Herman O. & Rachel E. (Baker) Schultz on a farm near Trumbull, Nebraska. She attended Trumbull schools and graduated from Trumbull high School in 1934. She attended Hastings College for one year , then taught at Union school district #36, near Fairfield, Nebraska for the 1935/36 and 1936/37 terms. She taught at Grove school district #62 south of Sutton, Nebraska for the 1937/38 and 1938/39 terms. On February 26, 1939, she married Loren E. Johnson in Belleville, Kansas. She taught the remainder of the 1939 school year then moved to Hastings, Nebraska. She taught a Sunday School class for several years and also served as a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader. She was co-owner of Johnson's Radio & T.V. shop and was an active participant in the operation and management of the business. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Hastings and Eastern Star Chapter #39.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
