Hastings resident Dorothy M. Kelly, 83, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at her home.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation is 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. with family present 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Dorothy was born November 19, 1934, in Edgar, NE to John Hock and Thelka “Tillie” (Eihusen) Hock. She married Bill Kelly on July 2, 1952, in Hastings, NE and they had six children together. Dorothy was employed by Fidler Insurance Agency for many years before starting her own insurance business, Kelly Insurance. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. She was an avid card and domino player and belonged to numerous card clubs. Dorothy enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Laurence Hock and Melvin Hock; two sisters, Mary Hock and Laureen “Beni” Papenhagen; and one son, Dennis Kelly.
