Dorothy Marcotte

Hastings resident, Dorothy L. Marcotte, 82, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at her residence, 847 Hewett, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, August 28, 2009; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings withPaul Julian officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2009; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M., and 9:00 A.M. until services Friday, August 28, 2009 at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Asera Care Hospice.

Dorothy was born April 13, 1927 in Atchison, Kansas to Iver & Edna (Jones) Hollingsworth. She was raised in Sutton, Nebraska by her uncle and aunt, Dr. Gilbert & Gladys Wieland. She attended Hastings High School and graduated in 1945. She also attended Hastings College for 2 years. She married Elmer J. Marcotte on April 15, 1947 in Mankato, Kansas. Elmer Marcotte predeceased her on January 25, 1991. She worked at the Hastings Regional Center for 45 years as a Psych. Tech and also was a homemaker. She loved her job and her family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; son, John Marcotte; granddaughter, Brook Woodward; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
