Dorothy Ann Nash

Hastings resident Dorothy Ann Nash, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 13, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. with the family present 1-3 p.m. Sunday, January 12, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Dorothy was born June 29, 1935, in Ayr, NE to John D. and Esther H. (Tjarks) VanLengen. She was baptized on August 4, 1935, and confirmed on April 10, 1949, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. Dorothy graduated from Juniata High School in 1952. She married Kenneth Dean Nash on October 16, 1954, in Hastings, NE; he preceded her in death on May 9, 2011. 

Dorothy helped with harvesting and worked at Midwest Distributing and Allen’s Department Store. She was a lifetime member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage at College View for the wonderful care she received for the last three and one-half years. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Nash; infant brother; and sister, Ruby Davis.
