Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008; 9:00 A.M.-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Wednesday, March 12, 2008; 1 hr. prior to service at the church. A memorial will be established.
Mrs. Pope was born June 9, 1919 near Lawrence, Nebraska to Joseph & Mary (Novak) Juranek. She married Raymond Pope, of Sutton, Nebraska, on August 6, 1952 in Kearney, Nebraska. To this union three sons and 1 daughter were born, Douglas, Craig, Larry and Marcia. Raymond and Dorothy raised their family and farmed south of Sutton, until they retired in 1979. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings.
Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her parents; brothers/sister-in-law, Art and Frieda Juranek, Ray Juranek, Roy Juranek and Bernard Juranek; sisters, Goldie Juranek and Sylvia (Juranek) Draper, and a grandson, Eric Pope.
