Douglas Altmaier

Hastings resident, Douglas W. "Doug" Altmaier, 64, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Friday, June 2, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to Start Over Rover. Book signing will be on Thursday, June 1, 2017; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Doug was born October 4, 1952 to William & Wynona (Lambertson) Altmaier in Kearney, Nebraska. He graduated from Kearney High School. Doug married Delores "Dori" Habe on September 30, 1972.

Doug worked for Thermo King for many years. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Doug loved to do yardwork and loved to go camping. He especially loved to spend time with his family. When Doug had a job to do, he was very meticulous and didn't stop until the job was done perfectly. Most importantly, Doug was a loving husband and father. He was also a very good friend and neighbor.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Danielson; father-in-law, Henry Habe; and a niece.
