Hastings resident, Douglas Charles Krueger, 84, died Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society - Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, February 11, 2010; 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Hour. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010; 5-9 P.M., Wednesday, February 10, 2010; 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. with family present from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Douglas Charles Krueger was born April 13, 1925, in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Gustav & Clara (Kort) Krueger. He was raised in Blue Hill and attended school there, graduating from Blue Hill High School. He married Elizabeth Mae "Betty" Thompson on March 23, 1945 in Kensington, Kansas. Betty preceded him in death on April 2, 1995. On September 13, 1997 he married Beverly Price and they lived in York, Nebraska where he was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Doug was a lifelong area resident, farmer / cattleman and considered himself a guardian of the land he farmed.

Douglas Charles Krueger was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Elizabeth Mae "Betty" Krueger, sister, Helen Cole and brother, Alvin Krueger.
