Earl L. Dickerson, 81, of 814 Madden Rd., Hastings, Nebraska, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Rosary will be Tuesday, June 15, 2004; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 16, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father James Meysenburg officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Dickerson was born November 2, 1922 in Hastings, Nebraska to Francis E. & Gertrude (Burroughs) Dickerson. He graduated from Holstein High School, Holstein, Nebraska. He moved from Holstein, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1944. He served in the United States Army in Korea and the Philippines from October 4, 1946 to March 15, 1948. He was a bus driver at the Naval Ammunition Depot during WWII. On June 25, 1951, he married Patricia Kimminau at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He was a welder for the Hastings Utilities for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Eagles, V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus and a life member of the Elks, where he was a past Exalted Ruler.
Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ronald and a sister Dorothea McKie.
