Former Hastings resident Ed W. Brinegar, 85, of Haven Home of Kenesaw, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at Haven Home.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 25, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating.

Ed W. Brinegar was born January 16, 1917 in Belvidere, Nebraska to Alfred I. & Nellie (Willmore) Brinegar. He graduated from high school in St. Joseph, Missouri. He served from 1942 to 1946 in the United States Marines during WWII in the Pacific Theater. On August 12, 1955, he married Geneva (Tatlow) Mattley and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2002. He worked at the Hastings Regional Center and Roger's Inc. He was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V.

Ed. W. Brinegar was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Geneva T. Brinegar, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include,
Sisters: Jeanne Masden - Pasadena, TX
Elinor McCoy - St. Joseph, MO
Several nieces and nephews

No viewing or visitation, Mr. Brinegar was cremated.
