Edgar Weakly

Hastings resident Edgar Weakly, 85, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE. 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial with military rites by the Hastings Military Honor Guard will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be at 1-7 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m. Thursday, August 8, and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Edgar was born October 14, 1938, in Pomona, MO to Lewis and Viola (Webb) Weakly. He graduated from Roseland High School in 1957 and attended technical school. Edgar married Martha Connett on November 6, 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from October 2, 1961 to August 21, 1963. Edgar worked at East Side Diesel as a diesel mechanic. 

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Schneider; and brother, Bill.
